Fortnite's Island Returns To The Wild In The Latest Update
Fortnite's Zero Crisis has come to an end. With the release of Chapter 2 Season 6, the Zero Point has been contained and the resulting pulse that spread across the island has erased any advanced tech it came across, leaving a new "primal" biome in its wake.
The center of this biome is a spire surrounded by a village, while the rest of the island has been taken over by the wilderness, the edges of which feature more spires. In this new, wild landscape, players will need to do more than just find weapons around the map, they'll need to make them. Materials to make these new "Primal" weapons are obtained by looting wildlife and tech that the pulse somehow missed. Epic has provided players with a crash-course style guide on how to craft these new weapons.
Speaking of wildlife, the new map is full of it and players will have to contend with everything from chickens to wolves -- and something even bigger and scarier later on.
In additional news, for Creative players, the V16.00 update has arrived introducing an improved Barrier Device, complete with new artwork. With the new update, the Barrier device can now be placed anywhere without needing to be tied to other structures. It can also be easily copied, pasted, rotated, and is now easily found on the quick bar.
The Creative update also includes general bug fixes and other minor changes.
