Fortnite's Cross-Platform Play Still Won't Let Xbox One And PS4 Owners Play Together
So, Fortnite Battle Royale players, we have good news and bad news. The good news is that Epic plans to make Fortnite cross-platform play available to everyone. The bad news is... There will still be a weird wall between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players.
Last week, Jason posted about the Fortnite cross-platform play announcement, and some of you might have noticed that Xbox One was missing from his list. That's because there's two lists. Both include iOS, Mac, PC, and Android, but each only lists one of the console platforms.
For some time now, Microsoft has been implying that they're willing to work out cross platform between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but it seems Sony is still holding out... at least for now. So, if you were looking forward to finally playing against your buddies who had the audacity to buy a different console than the one you have, it looks like you're going to have to keep waiting. But hey, at least there are going to be a slew of iOS players you can thrash.
