Fortnite Season Zero Ranked Gets Updates As The Team Evaluates Things Mid-Season
There are some changes coming to Fortnite Ranked Season Zero.
With the recent launch of ranked Fortnite Battle Royale and Zero Build players still have their hands full climbing the ranks to Unreal. That hasn't stopped the Fortnite devs from planning some mid-season updates to make things a little bit more rewarding.
Trios was added back to the ranked queue back at the end of May after being removed to improve queue times. They soon realized it filled a valuable spot in Fortnite, so it's back in ranked queues. Speaking of queue times, the team has begun loosening matchmaking parameters a bit so to help shorten queue times and get players in games quicker while maintaining a reasonable MMR for all players.
There's a rank reset coming soon in Season Zero of Fortnite. The devs are using it as a test for resetting rankings between seasons going forward. Your Ranked Urgent Quest completion will not be reset.
Changes are being made to Elite and Champion ranks, increasing the threshold to rank up, and making getting to Unreal more rewarding.
Season Zero is a time for testing and trying out things to make sure the launch of Season One is a success.
