Fortnite: Save The World Now Has Animals You Can Train And Fight Alongside In Battle
Wolves and raptors and boars, oh my!
Fortnite is getting a content update, and that's huge news. What do you mean "Fortnite gets updates all the time"? We're not talking about Fortnite -- we're talking about Fortnite! Sheesh...
Specifically, it's Fortnite's original version, the Save the World co-op PvE mode, that's received an update this month. Wildlife now roams the land, and will occasionally pick fights with the Husks. Alternatively, you can feed the critters some meat, corn, or mushrooms to get them on your side and follow you into battle against the hordes of invaders. And no, I don't care if it followed you home -- Wildlife that you tame in this fashion won't stick with you from adventure to adventure.
Tameable combat creatures include wolves, raptors, and boars, while chickens, crows, and frogs have other, non-combat uses. Crows, in particular, will lead you to high-rarity loot, while grabbing onto a chicken will let you glide down to safety from great heights.
To herald the arrival of your new feathered or furry friends, there's a new questline, Brawl of the Wild, which will grant you "the mysterious wolf lady, Gia," who has perks that apply to tamed Wildlife. Later additions for March will include Battle Hound Jonesy, doors that teleport Husks to your base, Staredown Southie, the Cram Session mini-event, and a new Robo-Kevin pack. With that much content planned, maybe Fortnite: Save the World doesn't need saving after all.
