Fortnite Champion Series Chapter 3 Season 1 Announced With Over $3 Million On The Line
The fun kicks off on February 17
In just eight days, the first Fortnite Championship Series of 2022 will kick off, offering participants a chance to win a share of a $3,008,500 prize pool. The tournament will be broken up over three weekends. The first weekend, February 17-20, will be broken into two rounds of qualifiers. The tournament will feature the same number of qualifiers as last season. However, the new addition of Duos will push the top eight teams from each qualifier to the finals.
Semi-finals will take place from February 24 through 27. It features three sessions in which teams either need to win a game or be one of the top six most consistent teams to move to the finals, which will take place on March 5 and 6. Some changes are in place for the finals as well. The format is similar, but a new Match Point variable has been added. This means that any who earns 500 points and three Victory Royales can end the competition early and be declared the champions.
In addition to the main tournament content, Epic is also hosting a community cup on February 28. This is a Duos event that will allow teams to compete in 10 matches over three hours. Whichever teams earn the most points for their region will be rewarded with an FNCS 3:1 Champion Outift and a Winner’s Mark Back Bling.
