Fortnite: Battle Royale Kicks Off 14 Days Of Summer With A New Limited-Time Mode Every Day
It's time to kick off the season of swimsuits in Fortnite: Battle Royale, with the 14 Days of Summer celebration! Running from today until July 7 -- a fortnight! -- each day will offer a weapon that's unvaulted for 24 hours, a limited-time mode, a daily challenge and free reward, and new outfits in the item shop.
There are also new daily quests in Fortnite: Save the World, "to help Homebase host the hottest summer party around." You can complete the quests to earn Summer Tickets, with all 14 awarding a "new explosive weapon."
All the different game modes are laid out on the Fortnite site, in random order. We think the most fitting is Splashdown Squads, which focuses on water balloon weapons. Maybe they do so much damage because they're filled with acid.
Fortnite players aren't the only ones who will be celebrating a two-week summer vacation -- so will its devs. Epic Games announced last week that its offices will be closed from June 24 to July 8, ostensibly to give its personnel some much-needed time off following a difficult stretch of development that included accusations of severe crunch. Epic typically gives employees two weeks off over the holiday season, but this is the first time the company has extended the same kind of privilege during the summer months. So if something in the new event are broken, try not to scream too loud at the devs, k?
