Changing Things Up A Bit, First Person Melee Extraction Dungeon Crawler Game Swordai Coming To Steam
Escape a tower filled with traps and treasure.
If you’re looking for something a little different in the extraction genre, how about a fantasy dungeon crawler that requires you to fight your way out of a tower? If that sounds appealing, you’ll have your chance soon. Today, indie developer ALX Theory announced Swordai will be coming to Steam.
Rather than shooting their way off an island, players will be slashing their way through a tower filled with traps while trying to avoid the “final fury” debuff that will stop them from making it out of the tower. They’ll fight monsters and bosses as well as other players. And yes, there will be loot.
The game uses a directional combat system and players will be using a variety of sword techniques in combat. As they progress through the game they’ll unlock skills and abilities that will allow them to customize their setup. Additional abilities can be bought using an in-game currency named Essence. This same currency can also be used to improve weapons.
As for the dungeons, they’re not small and they’ll be filled with up to 50 players as well as the monsters, bosses, traps, and treasure.
