Firefall Releases Massive Overhaul Update

There are usually two kinds of betas, marketing stunts and actual betas where players provide feedback and small changes are made to the game based on that feedback. The latest patch for Firefall is neither. Red5 Studios, the developers behind Firefall, recently announced a new update for the game that would do a variety of things, namely CHANGE EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT THE GAME THUS FAR.

Red5 released a video detailing the "MegaPatch". In the video Red5's VP of development, James Macauley talks about all the changes made to Firefall in the patch. Some of the changes include the removal of levels in Firefall (replaced with tech trees), a new class called the Biotech (replaces another class altogether), combat tweaks, crafting improvements, larger zones, new abilities and much much more.

If you have played Firefall before then I highly suggest you try it again since these changes undoubtedly will provide players with a very different experience. For all the patch details, check out the video above and let us know what you think!

the update is so bad they screwed the recon class u can only have 3 classes now u gota buy them and the medic cant really even heal anymore they screwed most of the classes over

umm did you know that...
after the beta.
there will be a wipe >:) and in all honesty they really over extended the beta for this game.

If you get a beta key right now don't play the game just yet. It's buggy and unstable and get's boring af once you finish the 5 quests they have implemented. PvP is sometimes fun if you can actually find people to play with and your team doesn't get facerolled.

Ei people, i am playing firefall since the first day of his colsed beta, yes, for sure a lot of luck, was an awesome game, still being awesome, and i will play this fame for sure in the future. I already have 2 invites to the closed beta, i invited a lot of my friends but now i have this keys and no one to give them. If you want to get someone send me your emails =D, I am spanish, this is mi nick in the game "zonracosines" and i really love firefall, the last patch was fantastic, almost to me, i dont care with lagg, the cuantity of new features is enormous, 4,5 GB, a new crazy game, thats the patch OMG.

these guys, I really salute them.. those are the kind of devs that other devs should be following.
creating a beautiful free to play game with awesome features and not a crap such as low quality graphics and absolute grind fest.

Removed levels as they saw the army of giants smash noobs to bits lol! I just read somewhere they wanted more skill diversity and use to show off you put more time in a character than in your skill level. The helps diversify, not dominate a map. Noobs can breathe easier and not get gankged by the wall of guys that live in front of their PCs..like me.....oh ;"'(

I don't forsee an open beta any time soon. This last update has its own problems. And a massive lag spikes now. They'll have to patch this release a bit more before it goes open me thinks.
