Finally, We Know How FFXIV Is Breaking Down The New Housing Wards
Six new wards for us to fight over.
With the launch of Final Fantasy XIV’s 6.3 patch, Square Enix will be adding new housing wards to the game. With the new addition, each housing district will make the jump from 24 to 30 wards. That’s a total of six new wards each.
Today, the developers finally detailed how these new wards would be distributed. The lottery system still stands and the new wards will be divided (sort of) between Free Companies and private buyers. The post on the Lodestone lists all wards, including the ones that already exist, but for our purposes, we’re going to ignore that. Unless you’re on a fairly new Data Center, it’s a pretty good bet those wards are full anyway. Although, it’s likely people will begin moving around some to try to get a better house.
How are the new wards broken up? Well, Ward 25 will be a Free Company Only ward. Ward 30 will be only available to private buyers. For Wards 26 – 29, it’s a free-for-all. Free companies and private buyers can try their luck at getting into one of these wards.
There is an exception to all of this, however. As mentioned above, new Data Centers don’t exactly have their wards filled up yet. That would be Dynamis, Materia, Phantom, Sagittarius, Alpha, and Raiden. Because of this, Wards 25 through 30 will not be open for players to purchase houses in yet. Players can enter and look around. But, let’s be honest. If you’ve seen one ward in a district, you’ve seen them all.
