Final Fantasy XIV’s Patch 6.2 Special Site Is Now Available, But Phase 1 Of NA Data Center Work Is Delayed
There’s word on the North American Data Center expansion, too.
August is almost here, which means Final Fantasy XIV’s next big patch is almost here. We’re within a month of it at the most. While we’re still waiting on the second part of the Live Letter, the game’s dev team is slowly rolling out information.
Earlier this week, they dropped the details on changes to the current Tomestones as well as what to expect from the end of PvP Series 1. Today, some more posts went up on the Loadstone – this time announcing the launch of the Patch 6.2 Special Site and offering details on the long-awaited Data Center expansion.
The Patch 6.2 Special Site is still pretty bare bones. In fact, at the moment, it consists of a plain-old bullet list:
- New Main Scenario Quests
- New High-end Raid - Pandæmonium: Abyssos
- Island Sanctuary
- New Dungeon - The Fell Court of Troia
- New Trial
- The First Variant Dungeon - The Sil'dihn Subterrane (Patch 6.25)
- The First Criterion Dungeons - Another Sil'dihn Subterrane and Another Sil'dihn Subterrane (Savage) (Patch 6.25)
- New Unreal Trial - Containment Bay S1T7
- Main Scenario Revisions
- Tataru's Grand Endeavor
- Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures (Patch 6.25)
- New Weapon Enhancement Quests - Manderville Weapons (Patch 6.25)
- New Tribe Quests - The Omicrons (Patch 6.25)
- Adventurer Plates (Official Release)
- Allagan Tomestones of Causality
- New Crafting Recipes
- New Mounts, Minions, and Emotes
- New Fashion Accessories
Other than that, the only thing currently on the page is the patch poster, featuring who we assume is Lahabrea (although, maybe not our Lahabrea.) and perhaps what are some other members of the Words of Lahabrea? If you’re wondering…it’s the red mask and the chains that are tipping us off. Although, we can’t see the bottom of the mask, so hey…it could be another member of the Convocation.
Moving on to...well...moving...at some point...in the future. That’s right. The North American Data Center expansion is still on the way, but it’s going to take a bit longer. It will be taking place in two phases, with the first happening in November instead of the previously planned August. Square Enix is still waiting on the server hardware to be delivered. Those semiconductor shortages continue to be a problem and despite working to find a solution, they really haven’t been able to. Those of you who may have been planning on jumping servers to try to get your own house are going to have to wait longer.
