Final Fantasy XIV Mobile Beta Testers Offer A Peek At The Game In Action
Several videos are available.
Beta testing for Light Speed Studios’ upcoming mobile version of Final Fantasy XIV is underway and the testers are sharing their findings. The project, announced last month, is a version of the popular MMORPG built from the ground up for mobile devices. According to a previous interview with Yoshi-P, the studio approached the XIV team requesting to work on this project and create something that everyone can play. We also know it will have no gacha mechanics, and that it begins where the PC and console version does, with A Realm Reborn.
Of course, without having seen the game in action, we’ve all been pretty clueless about how the systems have been modified to work on mobile devices. Today, we get to see that in action, as beta testers have uploaded several videos to Bilibili showcasing everything from character creation to crafting to the Titan Extreme. There are also videos highlighting quality-of-life improvements and limit break 3 for all available jobs. As these aren’t on YouTube, we’ll forgo embedding them here. Rather, there’s a Reddit post with all the available videos linked. It’s likely more could be added as time goes on.
That said, someone did upload the gameplay trailer to YouTube, so you can watch that here along with a video showing the visual differences between the mobile and PC version.
