Final Fantasy XIV Is Expanding The North American Data Center Once Again
Dynamis is getting four new worlds.
North American players of Final Fantasy XIV are about to have a bit more room to move around in. Earlier today, Square Enix announced plans to add four new worlds (Cuchulainn, Golem, Kraken, and Rafflesia) to the MMORPG’s Dynamis Data Center. To be honest, we didn’t realize that Dynamis had gotten full enough to warrant that, but it’s probably a good move with there being concerns about the servers being crowded following Dawntrail’s launch.
The worlds are being implemented with time to spare before Early Access kicks off, on June 11. That means new players will have a place to go. Anyone who feels their server is a little cramped can transfer. This would be a particularly good idea if you’re not attached to your current world and are in the market for a home.
Speaking of homes, house purchasing will be available on the day of the world launch. As with other worlds, the wards will be divided into FC wards and Private Wards. FCs get Wards 1-9 while individuals can buy a house in Wards 10 through 24.
It’s also important to note that those creating a new character on any of these Worlds or transferring to them will receive bonuses. People creating new characters will receive Double EXP until level 80, 10 silver chocobo feathers, 1,000,000 Gil, and 15 days of free play time. Players transferring will receive a free transfer to one of these worlds, 10 gold chocobo feathers, and Double XP until level 80.
