Final Fantasy XIV DDoS Keeps Players Out Of Game Most Of The Day
It’s hitting all the data centers.
If you’ve been trying to log into Final Fantasy XIV and keep getting that 90002 error kick, you’re not the only one. The MMORPG has been under DDoS attack more or less all day, with all the data centers being hit.
Exactly why this is happening today isn’t known. It seems a little odd since there’s nothing big going on in the game. There is the Yo-Kai event, but that runs for almost two months. We’re all just kind of biding our time and doing side stuff until Dawntrail launches. What we do know is that the attacks began this morning around 6:00 a.m. Pacific and are affecting all the data centers – Japan, North America, Europe, and Oceania.
At this point, it seems like it may not be fully resolved today. However, the XIV team had slated this evening for maintenance downtime anyway. With any luck, it’ll be taken care of before we go to log in tomorrow. That said, if you want to keep track of what’s happening, you can follow the status updates on the Lodestone. Currently, there’s just the one posted earlier today.
