Final Fantasy XIV Xbox Launch

As things are getting rolling for the Final Fantasy XIV team at PAX East, the MMORPG officially launched on Xbox today. It’s a busy weekend for the team. That said, if you’re not at the convention and you have an Xbox, you can get started on your XIV journey on the console now.

As noted previously, players who are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be able to pick up the Final Fantasy XIV Starter Edition, including A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood for free between now and April 19. That means you’ll still have to pay up for Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and eventually Dawntrail – whenever they announce its release date. If you’re not an Ultimate subscriber or want to wait until Dawntrail is announced and Shadowbringers is likely rolled into the Starter Edition, we suggest just playing the free trial for now.

To celebrate the launch, Square Enix is offering players Xbox Gamerpics of Final Fantasy XIV’s most beloved group of characters, the Scions. Well, everyone except Krile. Wonder why they left her out.

Meanwhile, Xbox has shared a getting started guide on its site. It basically focuses on how to build your character.

Its annoying how you can't carry on with your free trial from PlayStation to Xbox. I have a free trial character on Ps4 but It won't let me carry on with the free trial on Xbox, so instead I'll have to get the starter pack and pay sub.
