Fight For Retail Supremacy In IKEA-Themed Battle Royale
Alright gang. If ever I were to consider playing a battle royale, this might be the one. Who doesn't want to mercilessly annihilate their fellow shoppers in a retail-themed bloodbath? (Too violent?) Either way, the point is, developer/publisher DarxDev has decided the perfect setting for a battle royale-style game is in a faux IKEA (IDEA), titled Retail Royale.
The game, currently in Alpha on Steam with plans to release in Q3 of this year, pits 12 players against each other in an IKEA-style maze and offers them the ability to use anything they can get their hands on as weapons. Finally, flipping a table will actually be of value in a game. Of course, you don't have to toss a couch at someone if you think a gun will work better for you. Those are available as well.
Retail Royale uses a rock, paper, scissors system for melee combat. If it's not nailed down (and apparently nothing is) it can be used as an airborne weapon. And, if you can't find the item you want, you can just make it -- after breaking down other weapons for materials.
As for features, the game will include a map with "distinct store sections", voice chat, match events, multiple modes, the obligatory cosmetics, and..... meatballs. Because it can't be a faux-IKEA without meatballs.
