Fault: Elder Orb Joins The Graveyard With Paragon: Strange Matter Studios Announces Server Shut Down On November 1
"We were unable to obtain the level at which we needed."
A few months after Strange Matter Studios announced Fault: Elder Orb would come to Epic Games Store and become free-to-play for the digital store and Steam, the devs have revealed the Paragon-esque third-person MOBA will shut down its servers on November 1st.
The news came from Fault's official Discord by Community and PR Director Ryan Red, stating, "Fault: Elder Orb will be shutting down its servers on November 1st." According to his post, which you can view on Twitter, the devs were "fighting hard for the past few months to avoid this outcome." They even "stopped paying [themselves]" while continuing to work. The reasoning for Fault's demise is a familiar story: the devs attempted for years "to get Fault to a place worthy of the industry."

Red announced remaining on the Discord channel "as long as a Fault player remains" and will do his best "to answer all questions and discussions" in general chat. Also, some staff at SMS will play Fault with fans during its final days, and the studio has "unlocked everything in-game for everyone to enjoy before the servers shut down."
Former SMS developer Baylix had known about the closure before his departure. In his post on Twitter, he said, "3 years of my life were poured into this project and I am truly heartbroken to see it end up this way...We really did try our best." The official website for Fault: Elder Orb recaps the same sentiments from those who contributed to the project and thanks its fans for giving them a chance.
