Fault Adds "Combat Mage" Morigesh And Tones Down Lock-On Abilities
Is there still time to squeeze one more game update into 2020 before the calendar turns over? Not quite, as the team at Strange Matter Studios, makers of Paragon successor Fault have announced the 0.12.0 update today but it won't be deployed until tomorrow afternoon. When it does go live, it will add a new character to the F2P MOBA, while also making balance changes to many others.
Morigesh is the game's first "combat mage," using her powers to deal damage from up close, while also having enough survivability to come out alive. Her passive ability, Festering Toxins, deals more damage over time the longer she can stay close to a foe and damage them with abilities. (We won't comment on how fitting it is that the game's final new champion of 2020 has disease-related powers.) She's also got a Mark ability that damages the target and lets her create a doll in their likeness. It dovetails nicely with her R ability, Curse, which sees her stabbing that doll to damage the Marked foe, wherever they are on the map.
In addition to Morigesh, this update brings "review of lock-on abilities" which require players to click on their targets, a change that Strange Matter said will "require roughly 75-80% more accurate aiming." Most of the hero changes revolve around this new mechanic, with Gadget's Disruptor Drone also seeing a mana cost increase to balance out its being "too much of a nuisance."
