Fatshark Announces Delay Of Warhammer 40K: Darktide Xbox Series X|S Launch While They Address Player Complaints
This probably isn’t exactly the response players were hoping for.
Things have not been great for Warhammer 40K: Darktide – on the dev or player front. Since the PC launch, players have been expressing their ire at several of Fatshark’s development choices. A big gripe, according to the game’s Steam reviews, is that the developer let things like story, campaigns, mission selection, the enemies that appear in the trailer, mob patrols, and a whole list of other things go while making sure the game has a fully operational cash shop. According to reports, the cash shop works just fine. The end result is that the game’s most recent reviews are primarily negative and overall the reviews are mixed – which really isn’t all that great either.
In response, the Fatshark team has announced that over the next few months, they’ll be addressing player feedback. This includes things like implementing “a complete crafting system, a more rewarding progression loop”, and working on game stability. Since the company is having to shift its focus, that means some things are being set aside for a while. Among them is seasonal content and the games launch on Xbox Series X|S. They’re also postponing releasing more premium cosmetics, but it seems like players will probably be less upset by that than everything else. Here’s hoping they get things fixed and roll out the Xbox version before players stop caring.
