Fashion Wars Goes Next Level In Guild Wars 2, Plus New Expansion Tease
ArenaNet is hard at work.
Tomorrow's update (April 16th) will provide a new feature for those trying to keep up in the Fashion Wars of Guild Wars 2. Cosmetic Inspection does what it says on the tin; lets you see what that person in the phenomenal outfit is actually wearing. The MMORPG's new system will not give any sort of info on attributes, rarity, or upgrades, and will not show weapon types in PvP, but you can figure out what that epic shirt is called.
Also launching tomorrow is the return of the Super Adventure Box. It comes with updated rewards and some new additions and is a very popular activity for fans of Guild Wars 2.
The team is also working on improving textures in Guild Wars 2 thanks to DX11. They are using BC7 compression on all new and upcoming textures to improve the clarity and fidelity of weapons, visual effects, environments, and creatures. They'll be looking at converting existing assets to BC7 compression, but aren't making any promises right now.
Finally, we got a little sneak peek at a zone from the fifth Guild Wars 2 expansion coming later this year.
You can check out the blog post in its entirety on the official GW2 site.
