Fallout 76 Players Nuke Phil Spencer's Base In Retaliation For Xbox Boss Closing Studios
So much for his safe space.
Long beloved by the Xbox community, Xbox boss Phil Spencer isn't winning over any new fans recently with moves like the recent closure of the Arcane Austin studio (among other studios), developer of the now in maintenance mode Redfall.
Fallout 76 players have decided to show their disdain for the closures by nuking Spencer's in-game base. That's right, players dropped a nuke right on top of Phil's base in Fallout 76. You can see his well-known "P3" username associated with the camp.

Even better, the strikes seem to keep happing.
It's a small statement in a growing sentiment across the internet that maybe Xbox isn't the best of parents for gaming studios. After forcing the Arcane Austin studio to develop a live service game when Arcane clearly specialized in single-player narrative games, they shuttered the entire studio. That move, among others, has garnered a more negative opinion of Xbox recently, a sentiment that seems to be growing across social media and apparently inside of game worlds as well.
