Faction Crossplay Finally Arrives In World Of Warcraft As 9.2.5 Closes The Shadowlands Story
The new feature is included in the final Shadowlands update.
Today, Blizzard dropped the final update for World of Warcraft’s Shadowlands expansion before the arrival of the Dragonflight expansion. Patch 9.2.5 consists of quite a few quality-of-life changes, including class adjustments and dungeon and raid tweaks. It also adds some new quests and rewards and makes several changes to the Solo Shuffle Brawl PvP mode.
The most anticipated feature in this update, besides maybe the closing of the Shadowlands story, is the addition of cross-faction play for instances. This means that players can now team up with friends on the other side in premade groups to take part in mythic dungeons, raids, or rated arenas – with limitations. There’s a shortlist of instances that can not be played cross-faction.
As noted, the cross-faction partying works with premade groups. It’s also available to WoW Communities. However, guild warfare is still single-faction as are random matchmade activities. Those include heroic dungeons, skirmishes, or random battlegrounds.
