Free MMORPG "Project C" Has Lofty Goals, Looks To Provide Intricate Socioeconomic Gameplay
Do you want to be part of an MMORPG that will "change how people perceive open world online games"? Of course you do!
That's what's declared on the website for the first offering from French studio Darewise, codenamed "Project C." Along with the typical exploration and adventure elements common to most MMOs, the game is described in social terms, with players having the ability to "join clans and build societies on an abandoned planet brimming with wildlife, fascinating technology and adventure." Economic advancement and collaboration with other players look to be keys to the game, which is being developed by veterans of several well-known gaming studios.
You can sign up to participate in the alpha testing for Project C, but the developers aren't taking just anyone. In fact, the process sounds not unlike a job interview, with players needing to take a survey and then, if they pass, having a live video chat with a member of the development team. Do try to dress up a bit, and it wouldn't hurt you to get a haircut and shave.
Project C is being developed with Improbable's SpatialOS, which has already received its fair share of news for its potential to have a wide-ranging impact on how online games are played. Darewise has no information regarding a release date, but if you want the chance to try the game out for yourself in alpha testing, head on over to the Project C site to sign up.
