UPDATE: F2P 2D Platforming MMORPG Soul's Remnant Opening "Indefinite" Open Beta In March
The game may inspire some feeling of nostalgia.
Do you still wax nostalgic for the "good old days" of 2D MMORPGs like MapleStory and Ragnarok Online? Sure, you can still play some of those games, but they just aren't the same, are they? You may want to keep an eye on Soul's Remnant then. The upcoming 2D side-scrolling/platforming MMO from Chaomoon started development about 9 years ago by a single person and has since expanded and hopes to bring back some of those feelings you may not be getting anymore.
Soul's Remnant sports a classless system where your abilities are determined by your own decisions through the game's skill system. Community is the focus with guilds, housing, group content, and even a crafting and gathering system promoting a player-driven economy.
Honestly, it looks VERY freaking cute and the wide variety of locales in the world are sure to hide dungeons, bosses, and plenty of loot.
If you want to hop in for a bit, you actually don't have to wait much longer. Chaomoon is opening up an "indefinite" open beta starting on March 15th. The beta will be used as an opportunity to improve upon player feedback and, being indefinite, the beta won't have an end date for now.
You can wishlist the game on Steam right now.
UPDATE 3/5/2025: The test will no longer be indefinite and will only run for 3 days so the team can better iterate around player feedback.
