Destiny 2 Deck of Whispers

“This Week In Destiny” included Exotic focusing updates, the “Deck of Whispers”, and a mid-season armor and weapons preview of things to come to Bungie's shooter.

Bungie addressed the pricing of Exotic focusing in Destiny 2, which determines how players can obtain powerful gear. The development team aims to strike a balance between accessibility for all players and maintaining the prestige of high-end gear. They have reduced the costs of Exotic focusing, eliminating the Exotic Cipher cost for Tier-2 focusing and reducing Ascendant Shard costs — making it more feasible for players to acquire targeted rolls for their gear.

As for the Deck of Whispers, that’s a new feature added to the game in the Season of the Witch.

Then there’s upcoming changes to armor and weapons, particularly Exotic armor balance changes and adjustments to various weapon archetypes. Bungie’s goal is to create a more balanced and engaging experience for players by addressing issues with certain weapon types and subclasses that may have become overpowered or underused.

Future PvE tuning changes are planned for Season 23 too, with the development team hinting at increased damage for certain weapon types and the introduction of the Glaive rework, along with improvements to Exotic class Glaives.
