Everything We Learned During The Star Wars: The Old Republic 7.3 Livestream
New characters, storylines, PvP changes, and more.
Star Wars: The Old Republic went live today with a look at what all we can expect during MMORPG's update 7.3. There's a new storyline with new and returning characters, a new daily area and flashpoint, PvP updates, and more economic balance changes.
The Old Wounds storyline takes players back to Voss for a new daily area and comes back around to the Malgus storyline. Your companions have been searching for more information on Darth Nul, and a new artifact has been found. New and returning characters will take part in Old Wounds. There's also a new flashpoint coming called Shrine of Silence, which can be played separately from the main storyline.
There are several updates to PvP coming with SWTOR update 7.3. There will be more updates to medals, and increased points for attackers and defenders. In Voidstar, defeating players near doors and guarding doors will get you more defender points. In Novare Coast, successfully guarding objectives will earn you defender points. In Huttball, defeating players near endzones, and defeating the ball carrier will earn you more points, and the entire team will be rewarded when your team scores. New PvP rewards are on the way as well.
Further changes are being implemented in the credit economy initiative. The devs emphasized that this initiative is ongoing and that more changes will be made in the future based on player feedback. New taxes are being added for secure trade, mail, and collect on deposit based on credit value. The GTN is getting an overhaul with increased usability, making finding what you want easier. They are also adding buy orders and making adjustments to the buyout price limit. There are adjustments to taxes in the GTN base on price.
There are, of course, plenty of new Cartel Market items coming, but they only showed a couple of weapons.
That's the roundup of what we learned from the Star Wars: The Old Republic 7.3 Update Livestream. The big question remaining is how much actual story content there will be in this update, especially since the last few updates have been extremely small chunks of story.
