Everquest II's Time-Locked Expansion Server, Varsoon, Rolls Into Beta Today
Open for all fans to test and get an early look before its official launch.
Varsoon, the latest Time-Locked Expansion (TLE), launches its Beta server today, becoming available for all members of Everquest II for testing. It'll give players an "early look" before its official release on May 24, 2022.
Darkpaw Games and Daybreak Games are eager to get players into the Varsoon Beta server, even answering some FAQs and charting the directions for getting into the server itself. To start, players must patch the game to gain access to the server. You'll be able to do this from your LaunchPad. Click on the "Version" link that rolls out a "Select Game Version" panel, and from there, choose "Beta" and hit "Apply." If you're ever unsure of your next steps, the announcement page on the Everquest II site will steer you in the right direction.
In the case of the FAQs, the answers help shape what players can do and experience in the Varsoon Beta server. The TLE will automatically unlock expansions every 16 weeks, except for Desert of Flames, which will come out first in 12 weeks. The Varsoon server will be Free-Trade from the beginning, making "heirloom" items tradable between players. And for any "content that was released in between expansions, including GU and Adventure Pack content," they will release eight weeks after their corresponding expansion. Additionally, all races will be available on Varsoon at launch, but the downside for classes is that the Channeler and Beastlord won't be playable on Varsoon.
We've only scratched the surface of the FAQs, so be sure to read it on the Everquest II website for more juicy deets. After learning about the timed expansion, will you be jumping into Varsoon today? Let's talk about it in the comments!
