EverQuest 2 Consolidating Servers In August
EverQuest 2 Executive Producer Holly "Windstalker" Longdale's most recent producer's letter makes official what was teased on the forums a couple months back: EverQuest 2 will be "consolidating" (don't call it a merge!) U.S. servers around the end of this month, with Russian, Japanese, and EU servers to follow later in the year. The servers to be consolidated haven't yet been determined, but Daybreak is planning to let players vote on the names for the new, combined, servers.
In addition, Longdale mentions that a new campaign is still being worked on, with prelude events possibly popping up by the end of September. Meanwhile, if you want to be a part of the Community Round Table with dev Kyle "Kander" Vallee, there's still time to sign up and make your voice heard.
There's still room for some surprised, though... Longdale says that her team still has "a few things up our sleeve" and that they're "going to experiment with a few ideas." It's nice to see some attempts at innovation for an MMO nearing its 11th birthday.
