Even If You Aren't In Today's Test Yet, You Can Still See A Full Gameplay Walkthrough Of Extraction Shooter Exoborne
Of course there's a "get to the choppa" reference in the new video.
Generally speaking, I'm not huge on extraction shooters. I don't have anything against them though, as I do enjoy a good shooter game no matter how bad at them I may be. That said, I have been watching Sharkmob's Exoborne pretty closely. It absolutely follows the typical "extraction" gameplay loop. Hop into a match, take out enemies and teams of other players, loot them all, and try to extract so you can use your gains to upgrade your rig and loadout, then do it all again.
On that front, it may not sound very different. However, if you have yet to play it in any test phase, you may want to check out the new gameplay walkthrough video below. First, the game looks great. Second, the shooting gameplay seems to have a slightly more tactical element to it than other extraction games, and I like that. Some of that may have to do with the main viewpoint in the video being a sniper, though. If that's the case, yes, I'll be rolling a sniper. Third, the weather element of things is kind of crazy. Sure a tornado can cause some damage (and get set on fire!), but your rig protects you from fall damage so you could even use the deadly weather as an advantage against enemies or as a way to glide your way out of danger.
If you're down to play, a new test just started today and it will run through February 17th. While things are already up and running, you can still go sign up on Steam as the team will continue sending out invites as the test continues. I literally just saw one come into my personal email while writing this piece. You could also find your way in via Twitch Drops.
If you're already playing, here's a list of issues the team already knows about and is working on already.
