EVE Online Rolls Out New Photon UI As Default After 94% Of Players Use It While Optional
EVE's new Photon UI is now baseline for everyone.
Since its launch in 2003 EVE Online has continued to evolve, and now they've taken another step into the future with the full rollout of its new Photon UI.
The new Photon UI is now the one and only UI available in EVE Online, with the company reporting that 94% of players had already adopted the new UI when it was just an opt-in option.
The new Photon UI aims to streamline usability and make future feature iteration faster and easier. The new UI also enables micro widgets to be implemented which would have been impossible with the old code.
Photon UI enables the ability for compactable windows, an increased number of overview tabs, and grouping for overview presets with added descriptions for the default filters.
The overall idea is more customizability for players, giving you the ability to tailor your UI to your specific playstyle in EVE Online.
Alongside this UI change comes hardware upgrades which will be detailed further in the future.
