EVE Online Quadrant 3: Gateway Update Adds New “New Player” Experience
Gone are the days of just trying to figure it out for yourself.
If you’ve been interested in playing Eve Online but have always found the prospect of learning to navigate the game a daunting one, now might be a good time to give it a go. Today, CCP Games released the third Quadrant update for 2021, Gateway. This update revamps the new player experience, adding a new narrative experience filled with new characters that instruct players on the essentials. You know, the important things, like how to pilot ships, survive combat…oh yeah, and earn money. By the time players complete the training, they should be all set to navigate the full game.
In addition to the new player experience, the update adds other new content and, of course, drops some balance updates. Among the new additions is the Skill Plans feature, which helps simplify player progression by allowing players to build a list of skills with specific goals. With this new addition, players should be able to keep track of their training more easily. These lists can also be shared with friends via the various forms of communication available in Eve Online – chat, Eve Mail, corp bulletin, and more.
On an additional note, if you’re one of those folks that want to get their games via the Epic Games Store, EVE will be launching there on September 23. Of course, the real goal here is to make the game accessible to those who are hanging out on the platform and probably haven’t tried Eve before. So, if you’re not into the EGS, don’t worry. You can still grab the game elsewhere.
