Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore Plans To Wipe Its Servers Just Days After Launch
Gellyberry Studios announced they plan to do a 2-week wipe of the new MMORPG on May 12 due to issues.
Things are already not looking good for Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore, just a couple days after officially launching.
On their Discord server, and later published on Steam, developers from Gellyberry Studios announced they plan to do a 2-week wipe of the new MMORPG on May 12 due to issues caused by an "overwhelming level of interest" in the game. And yet, the team is still encouraging people to play. Not for fun, mind you, but to help identify and resolve any additional issues.
That being said, players will receive two more weeks added to their active subscription as well as a special cosmetic item as compensation for the debacle. Also, Gellyberry Studios addressed the double charges on subscription fees folks were experiencing, and apologized for game-breaking bugs. However, no specific explanation for the issues was provided.
Upon launch, the game's peak player count was just under 2,000. That number is vastly lower than the expected “10-20k concurrent players” the indie developer predicted though. Aside from that, Ethyrial currently sits at over 500 “Mostly Negative” reviews on Steam.
