ESO Is Replacing PC NA Datacenter Hardware Today In Hopes Of Offering Better Service
Updates to console and PC EU are due to change as well once the right hardware comes in.
The Elder Scrolls: Online will be swapping out all 2012-era server hardware in their datacenters. This change is made in the hopes that this will update servers before components start failing and will ultimately create a more reliable service overall that will need fewer unplanned maintenances. This upcoming PC NA Datacenter hardware replacement was originally set to take place last year, but due to the pandemic it became difficult to acquire the new hardware due the the global shortages of many electronics around the world.
All the hardware for the PTS has already been installed and so far has been running smoothly. The next step in this transfer is to refresh the rest of the PC North American Datacenter, which will happen today, May 3. After the transfer players should hopefully experience more reliable services. As for the PC EU and console datacenter hardware refresh, that will happen as soon as possible, but ordering hardware is still difficult and could take some time.
