ESO Announces "Shadow Over Morrowind," A New Adventure Starting In March And Debuting The Arcanist Class
Players can start the adventure in March through an upcoming dungeon DLC.
During the Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct stream today, ZeniMax announced a brand-new adventure called "Shadow Over Morrowind" will arrive in The Elder Scrolls Online. It will be the year's ESO adventure that sends players back to Morrowind to explore places that haven't been in the series since 1994.
Shadow Over Morrowind will tell a story across multiple content releases, beginning with the "Scribes of Fate" dungeon DLC planned on March 13th for PC/Mac and March 28th for consoles. The narrative will continue with the "Necrom" chapter alongside the new Arcanist class on June 5th for PC/Mac and June 20th for consoles.
The Necom chapter will feature 30 hours of fresh story content that sends players to two zones in Eastern Morrowind with two new companions. Arcanist will become available then as the seventh class in the game with powerful new abilities and mechanics drawn from a "Daedric Prince in the realm of Oblivion."
On a recent preview blog, ZeniMax unveiled Arcanist as a mystical class capable of harnessing runes and ancient knowledge to unleash destructive, defensive, or restorative magics. It will have a new mechanic called "Crux" that activates when specific abilities get used to empower other moves for extra effectiveness. How players utilize Crux to spend or generate more will impact their playstyles.
