Epic Announces $1 Million Fortnite Winter Royale Tournament
Fortnite's Fall Skirmish is over, and Epic Games is looking pretty far into the future -- namely next year's World Cup event. As it turns out, the company plans to use The Online Tournament system to determine participants for the World Cup. But before they can do that, they need to do a little testing.
This is great news for anyone who might want to do a little competing before the end of the year and walk away with part of a $1,000,000 prize pool.
Beginning November 24, Epic will launch the Fortnite Winter Royale Open Competition, using the new tourney system. Players will compete in Solo test events beginning with the Winter Royale Qualifiers. During the Qualifier days, players need to shoot for the high scores, as that's the only way to qualify for the Winter Royale Finals in December.
Following the qualifiers, players in Europe and North America will be able to compete in the regional finals. Europe's finals will take place first -- November 30 - Dec 1, while the North American ones will take place December 11 and 12.
Those wanting to compete in the tournament will want to check the Fortnite Site for all the rules and fine print.
