Surprising No One After The Western Shutdown, Elyon’s Even Closing In Korea
The announcement comes just days before the NA/EU closures.
You may or may not remember that Elyon is being shuttered in the West. The closure was announced months ago. They sneaked it in with the drop of the game’s most recent class, the Soulbringer. Considering the game’s history, it’s fair to say that most people probably weren’t shocked and may have even forgotten about the whole thing by now.
However, if you’re one of the people that have been playing the game, you know the end draws nigh. In fact, there are only two days left to play – although Kakao won’t be deleting accounts until late February.
North America and European shutdowns aside, there was an assumption that the game would live on somewhere… more specifically Korea. Yeah… that’s not happening either. Two days before closing the game in the west, Kakao announced that the game will be shuttering in Korea too.
As with the Western closures, Kakao is providing players with a lot of lead time. They have until March 2, 2023, to prepare. It seems that the developer will also continue dropping content until then. That said, the Ruby Store closes on December 7. The original announcement can be found on the Korean Elyon site. You’ll need to use Google Translate to read it.
