Elsword's Winter Update Will Mod Base Skills And Add A New Raid, But You Can Pre-Register Now For Extra Freebies
There's holiday events you can explore while you wait for the main course in January.
Elsword is trying a few different things with this year's Winter Update. KOG Games isn't just changing the launch timing of the MMO's update itself, but they're also experimenting with quite a few new features. The most immediate impact to players and their characters is the addition of Secret Manuals that modify two base skills for each character, making the total combination of possible changes over all classes come in at 120 skills. January 15th sees the initial unlocking of these mods for Elsword, Rena, Eve, Rose, and Laby. Other characters will follow in the trailing weeks.
In fact, while the update won't start dropping until January 2nd (it's coming in parts), you can pre-register for the update now and score yourself some freebies including a Reward Cube containing materials, the mod cube, and a Cardboard Cut-Out Select cube.
The Winter Update will also unlock a new raid made up of 4 dungeons culminating in a battle at the top of Serpentium Tower against Barkat and their Demon Invasion. You can snag a new weapon in this raid and, once again, Elsword is changing things up here. If you happen to fill your progress gauge, then the weapon drop is 100% guaranteed and there is no weekly gauge cap this time around. That should make farming the new weapon a tad easier compared to last time around.
In other bigger news, the Accessory Slot will see an expansion and updates. Since this, combined with Skill Mods, will create new levels of power, expect a balance pass shortly after these features launch.
While you wait for the Winter Update, hit up Elsword's Christmas Story Event starting tomorrow, December 19th. Run three level-appropriate dungeons each day and explore Christmas Stories.
