Elder Scrolls Online: Firesong Preview Details New Galen Island, Druid Lore, Conclusion To Bretons Saga, And More
The content comes with Update 36 that brings features, combat balance changes, and bug fixes.
Zenimax has released a detailed preview blog today on The Elder Scroll Online website for the upcoming Firesong DLC. It explores the new anticipated island of the Systres Archipelago, Galen, expands on the druid lore, teases the conclusion of the Legacy of the Bretons saga, and more.
Slated to launch on November 1 for PC/Max and Stadia and on November 15 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, Firesong seeks to end the year-long Bretons adventure. Players will travel to the fertile island of Galen, which has served as a base for druid circles. It features sprawling jungles, lava rivers, woodland spirits, and unique creatures never seen before in Tamriel.
Besides the druids, House Mornard and a southern port city called Vastyr make the island their home. Exploring Galen will have its standard affair of challenging new world bosses, delves, volcanic vents, and standalone quests for players to overcome.
Continuing the theme of druid conflict, the Firesong Circle players encounter within the Lost Depths DLC have attacked Galen's Stonelore and Eldertide druid circles. On the flip side, House Mornard suffers relentless raids from Sea Elf pirates. Players will face both growing threats and investigate the motives behind these constant attacks, putting a stop to them before spreading beyond Galen.
Players can start a host of additional bonus quests to conclude the Legacy of the Bretons year-long saga once finished with the Firesong story. According to the devs, pieces of the narrative throughout 2022's DLC and Chapter content will be hinted at throughout Galen and eventually comes to a head as players battle the Ascendant Lord. They didn't reveal much but mentioned the adventure will be filled with familiar and new allies and sends players deep into the volcanic isle of Y'ffelon.
Alongside Firesong comes Update 36, a highly-requested base-game patch by players that plans to bring combat balance changes, bug fixes, and features. A blog post on the forums by the combat team at Zenimax roughly details adjustments to targeted abilities, sets, and passives based on community feedback.
One of the changes is Backlash's final hit scaling dynamically with the highest offensive stat. Outside of a few abilities, everything else will see tweaks to improve performance across the board. Also, a text-to-speech accessibility option, a tool to place markers on enemies, the ability to hide class pets in towns, and more are on the way.
In other news, PTS play will begin on September 19 for Firesong and Update 36. To get started, enable playtesting from the settings menu within the ESO launcher, and you'll be able to download and test the environment once live. For more information on the preview details, check out the ESO website.
