Despite some bumps in the road in 2021, Enad Global 7 is reporting that the final quarter of the year, and the year overall, were both quite good, according to its most recent investors presentation. In fact, it was described as the "all-time best quarter for the Group both in Net Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA." Total revenue for the quarter was SEK 573 million, or about $60.8 million, which is up 193% from the previous year's Q4.

The M&A highlight for the quarter was the acquisition of Magic: The Gathering Online, which EG7 anticipates will contribute SEK 90-100 million ($9.5 to $10.6 million) in revenue during the current year as it looks to "revitalize and significantly grow the game."

After introducing Deputy CEO and CFO Fredrik Rüdén, who joined the company in December, and a lot of earnings charts, the financial roundup focused on what parts of EG7 were bringing in the dough. In the games segment, that's 75% Daybreak, from which it anticipates a "LOTRO boost from Amazon show" (unlikely, IMO) and additional value from updates for LotRO, DC Universe Online, and Magic: The Gathering Online. Under "New products with core-owned IPs" are listed EverQuest, H1Z1, and "Planeside" [sic], with a plan to "Acquire more development teams to accelerate internal projects."

Between all that and the unannounced Marvel game, EG7, or at least the Daybreak portion of it, has a lot on its plate going forward. So far, though, we haven't seen anything major come of its big acquisition just over a year ago. EG7 is talking a good talk, but, in my opinion, it's getting close to the time to walk the walk.
