Dune: Spice Wars "Multiplayer Update" Debuts 2v2 And Free-For-All PvP Matches
Fighting over resources just got a bit more competitive.
Publisher Funcom and developer Shiro Games have announced the long-awaited "Multiplayer Update" for 4X and RTS-styled Dune: Spice Wars. Whether in 2v2 or free-for-all, players can fight for resources with a faction of their choice.
Players can choose between the Atreides, Harkonnen, Fremen, or Smugglers faction for 2v2 or the free-for-all of up to four players. Any vacant spots will naturally become filled by AI and optimized in difficulties like "Easy" or "Insane" by a player. Each game can be tailored from its map size to third-party activity from storms or Sietch, to victory conditions.
With the patch are some improvements to development trees focused on synergy between factions and adding new political resolutions, events, regions, and more. Despite being the first major delivery on past promises, the developers will continue to spice up the Early Access title and plan to reveal more updates soon. In the meantime, you can find Dune: Spice Wars on PC via Steam and grab it now if you're interested while it has a 20% discount.
