Dual Universe January Dev Diary Shows Off Biome Development, Physics, And More
Novaquark dropped a new developer diary for it's single-shard sandbox MMO Dual Universe highlighting some of the features currently being worked on for the game recently. Included in the features is biome development, changes to lighting and building mode, a physics demo and more.
The biome development highlights show off improvements to the desert biome as well as a first look at the polar biome. Lighting changes offer players more illumination at night, making things visible even when a torch isn't lit. The smoothing tool is now functional in building mode and jetpacks have been made infinitely usable in building zones.
As for the physics demo... You'll be able to check out a short hovercraft demo that shows just how they are implemented in the universe. Engines have real push and calibration is necessary to make ships work properly.
Overall, it's pretty cool. See for yourself in the video above.
