Dota Anime Series Coming To Netflix In March
There's an anime series based on Dota 2 in the works, and it's scheduled to hit Netflix in just over a month. DOTA: Dragon's Blood will consist of eight episodes, bringing Valve's MOBA to life with the help of Studio MIR, the animation studio behind The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge.
According to a Netflix press release, the series will focus on Davion, "a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world." He'll team up with "the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own" and become "embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined." There's no word on whether Davion will have to stick to his lane or will be asked to jungle.
The showrunner and executive producer for the series is Ashley Edward Miller, who produced on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Fringe, and Black Sails and was a screenplay co-writer on X-Men: First Class and Thor.
DOTA: Dragon's Blood premieres on Netflix on March 25.
