Dota 2 Gets A “Huge” Update In "New Frontiers" That Even Expands The Game's Map
The update expands the map by 40% and even introduces a new hero attribute type.
Dota 2’s update is a big one. Not only does it include all the expected things like balance changes and general fixes to the MOBA, but it also adds a new hero attribute type, implements match-making improvements, and expands the game’s map by 40%. The edges are no longer where they once were.
Don’t worry, this map expansion doesn’t change what was already there. The lanes are the same and all the stuff that was in the middle is still in the middle. Instead, the extended perimeter will add new places for players to gather resources and perhaps implement new strategies. It’s probably a good idea anyway since extending the perimeter did affect the jungles. The main jungles are just different now, and players are going to have to work with that.
Another big addition in this update is a new main stat group called Universal heroes. This group is made up of existing heroes that now gain 0.6 damage from each stat, on any attribute. The Black King Bar has been reworked as well – applying a basic dispel and granting 50% Magic resistance and Debuff Immunity. In addition, Neutral items drops have been reworked, and – of course – some heroes have seen changes. As always, the full rundown is available on the Dota 2 site.
