Divine Knockout (DKO) Releases Today And Brings Cute 3rd Person Platform Fighting To Almost Every... Well, Platform
Have to admit, the game looks damn cute, too!
Red Beard Games and publisher Hi-Rez are unleashing a new "fighting gods" game today on multiple platforms, and no, it isn't SMITE DLC. It's a totally new game called Divine Knockout (or DKO for short).
We've been watching DKO from a distance ever since it was announced in August. The game focuses on 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 skirmishes between very cute, stylized gods in a vibrant world. Instead of the MOBA trappings of SMITE, DKO calls itself a "platform brawler" where the environment can sometimes be more dangerous than your foes.
Yes, you'll want to beat up your opponent or take over objectives in certain game modes, but positioning, movement from platform to platform, and timing are the REAL keys to success.
The game launches today on almost every platform (Steam, Epic Games, PS4/5, Xbox Seires S/X, and Xbox One (sorry, no Switch version yet) and is cross platform.
There are two versions of DKO that you can pick up, one being $24.99 and the other being $49.99. Both packages get you all 8 gods currently in game, the full game itself, and several cosmetics. The more expensive edition includes other things like titles and in-game currency.
Remember, though, PS Plus subscribers can pick up the Standard edition for free as part of December's free games.
We'll also be hosting a giveaway later today for free Epic Games Store keys, so stay tuned! (UPDATE: Giveaway is LIVE!)
