Digital Extremes Reveals Call Of The Tempestarii Update During Warframe Dev Stream
Digital Extremes hosted the first Warframe dev stream of 2021 today, and it looks like they decided to just come flying right out of the gate. During the stream, the company revealed the game's next big update (Update 30), the first Prime access of the year, and the 46th Warframe. The update, titled Call of the Tempestarii (pronounced "Tem-pest-are-ee") features a bit of a nautical theme. Okay, it's more than just nautical. It's specifically a "mystical 'Davey Jones/Flying Dutchman' theme, complete with a lore-filled quest.
Update 30 adds new features to the Railjack system, including new Corpus Railjack space combat featuring Capital Ships. It also adds void storms and combines the Orphix Venom mech battles with Railjack missions to offer more variety.
As for the new Warframe, Sevagoth deals in souls -- particularly the sowing, reaping, and draining of them. In addition to having four classic abilities, he also boasts a "Wraith"meter that when filled allows him to take on a different form. This Reaper form has its own abilities.
Other items of note in this week's dev stream is the announcement of the next Prime Warframe -- Octavia Prime, and that new seasonal activities are on their way. These include Star Days and the Lunar New year.
