Destiny 2 The Final Shape Finally Has Its Delayed Release Date Confirmed By Bungie
Seriously, we've know this was coming for a while.
Whelp, it's now official. Destiny 2's The Final Shape expansion has been delayed and will release on June 4, 2024. I mean, this shouldn't be a surprise to just about anyone as the shooter's expansion was already rumored to be delayed when everything hit the fan at Bungie and layoffs hit staff.
In the new post on the official site, Bungie confirms the delay saying "The Final Shape needs more time to become exactly what we want it to be."
Of course, delaying the expansion means that certain other aspects of the planned content rollout until then need to change. Season of the Wish begins tomorrow. The main content for the update will run through February, as previously planned. To fill the gap until the expansion's June launch date, Season of the Wish will have some additional content added.
New weekly progression called "Wishes" will be added in February, Guardian Games will be moved up to March, April will see a two-month content update called "Destiny 2: Into the Light", and all of this is in addition to everything the PvP Strike Team has cooking...including 3 new maps coming in May.
Check out the full FAQ on the delay, which includes info on what happens if you've pre-ordered already.
