Destiny 2 April Fool’s Wordle Clone Is Here To Stay
Only the most dedicated Guardians will succeed.
At this point, everyone has heard of Wordle. If this web-based puzzle’s cryptic green boxes have not appeared on your Twitter timeline, then you are one of the lucky few. Wordle is an online word game that rapidly grew in popularity in the past few months. So much so, that multiple Wordle clones have popped up all over the internet offering their own little twists and frills. As an April Fool’s prank, Destiny 2, with the help of Light.gg, made its own version, Rolldle.
While Rolldle started as a mere one-day April Fool’s prank, the numbers don't lie. Within 24 hours, Rolldle clocked up almost three million views as players began sharing their results on social media in an immense wave of positive feedback. It looks like Destiny fans can rejoice, as Rolldle will be sticking around, according to TechRadar.
Unlike Wordle, Rolldle isn't a puzzle word game, but rather a fun twist that puts Destiny fans' weapon knowledge to the test. Players will have to guess weapon rolls for guns based solely on their prior knowledge of which perks are popular. To make the endeavor even more challenging, if you haven't played Destiny 2 for a while, this won't be an easy task.
Players have the option of playing Rolldle in Normal and Infinite modes. Normal mode is similar to the popular Wordle, where one scenario is created and that puzzle is the same for everyone. This puzzle resets at the same time as Destiny 2’s daily reset (1 p.m. EST). Infinite mode on the other hand, also the original April Fool’s format, allows players to play the game as many times as they would like.
Afpac, the creator of Rolldle, shared the list of randomly rolled Legendary weapons that make up Rolldle’s answers. If you think you're a Guardian up for the challenge, why not try out Rolldle and impress–or disappoint–your friends.
