Destiny 2, Apex Legends, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, And Others Were Best Sellers And Peaked Over 250,000 Players On Steam This Year
A pretty obvious result for these live-service multiplayer games.
Valve revealed the "Best of 2022" for Steam today on their store, showing the metrics of many leading games on the digital platform across multiple categories and tiers.
The "Top Sellers" and "Most Played" tabs for multiplayer games reveal titles such as Destiny 2, Apex Legends, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, Lost Ark, Naraka: Bladepoint, PUBG: Battlegrounds, CS: GO, Ark: Survival Evolved, and others are at the head of the pile.
It's understandable when you consider the live-service formula behind those games and the consistent player backing they receive, thanks to fresh content pushed out throughout the year. While those games are leading the charge in player numbers and revenue, titles like Path of Exile, New World, Rust, and V Rising appeared on the lower tiers.
If there's a game you appreciated and enjoyed the most from the Steam store, it may be a nominee for the 2022 Steam Awards. From "Best Game On The Go" to "Labor of Love," users can vote among a list of games they would like to see win. On January 3rd, the winners will get announced.
