Defiance storyline moves forward with new Silicon Valley Expansion

Defiance's latest patch is also the first to add brand new areas to the MMOFPS. The free expansion introduces an apocalyptical version of the Silicon Valley area in San Francisco, that has been overrun by a cult called the Pilgrims of the Guiding Light as well as The Grid. Meaning you, the protagonist, will have plenty to shoot at.

The DLC centers on the disappearance of the character known as Karl Von Bach, who vanished somewhere into Silicon Valley along with his Pilgrims. Players will need to investigate the valley throughout five new story missions in order to unravel its mysteries and find out the Pilgrims true purpose for being there.

In addition to the new story missions, players will be able to unlock new outfits and synergies, new weapon mods, and an expanded EGO cap. A new encryption trait can now show up on particular weapons and shields, producing a small bonus to damage or capacity. This encryption status can also be triggered manually through the use of the Salvage Matrix, but only once per item.

Other additions include new Invasions by the Grid, which if left unchecked, have no problem turning areas of Silicon Valley into their own personal hives.
