Dead By Daylight Tweaks Anti Face-Camping System & Changes To The Skull Merchant
Some changes based on feedback from the public test build.
Dead by Daylight is addressing a few issues brought up on the game's latest public test build. With these changes come tweaks to the anti-face-camping mechanic and The Skull Merchant killer.
The anti-face-camping mechanic in Dead by Daylight is intended to keep killers from camping hooked survivors, but the system needed a few tweaks. There will now be a 7-second grace period, giving the killer time to kick a nearby generator or reload at a locker before the anti-face-camping timer begins. The system will also now weigh horizontal distance over vertical distance, easing the issues that arose on indoor maps especially where killers would activate the camping timer even though the path to get back to the victim was quite long.
The Skull Merchant was nerfed during the PTB testing so that she was not such a powerhouse defending generators, but much of the feedback stated that she felt much weaker because of this change. Dead by Daylight devs have promised further tweaks to keep her from feeling weak, while also keeping her from being overpowered when defending generators.
Also on the menu are changes to the Furtive Chase and Background Player perks, The Trapper Killer, and Shattered Square map. Furtive Chase and Background Player were reworked, The Trapper's bear traps will now spawn closer to generators, and Shattered Square will have fewer pallets spawn.
