DDO's 2020 Plans Include New Class, New Race, New Adventures, And An Expansion
Dungeons & Dragons Online Executive Producer Rob "Severlin" Ciccolini has released another producer's letter into the wild, detailing Standing Stone Games' "grand plans" for DDO heading into the new year.
The most immediate new stuff for players to enjoy will be Update 45, which arrives in February, and brings with it the new Alchemist class and updated Epic versions of the adventure packs The Catacombs and Delera's Tomb. Later in the spring, there will be a new adventure pack set in Stormreach, and potentially another in the summer, which will add legendary versions of raids.
In the second half of the year, Standing Stone Games will reveal information about DDO's next expansion, which will take players to the Feywild and introduce a new race, the Shifter, which is "capable of temporarily embracing their bestial aspects to rend enemies and survive." It also sounds like a new level cap will be implemented, pushing characters past level 30.
Other details of DDO's 2020 that weren't ascribed to a particular timeframe include a second season of the Hardcore league, shared account banks, and a 64-bit client. You can read the entire producer's letter on the Dungeons & Dragons Online site.
